I mean, it is NOT vast open space. It is very managable to find your way with a good topo or just a good memory from studying google Earth.

Crazy run adventure on the lakes...did it last year...Run from White Banks across the frozen lake to Bettys Neck...through the fields and back to Jermemy's point in between Pocksha and Assawompset and then around the island north of Pocksha and back out to White Banks...all on the ice. I know...don't do if it does not seem right...

If you think about it, even though they are not marked, the trails are already there. Remember, this is vast open space, the trail network throughout the Assawompsett complex exists, just takes the right now how. Go check out Betty's Neck, the have marked trails.

Sometimes I have a philosophical debate on whether I like to leave the trails unmarked...then i think to myself, well, I know where they are, better off that way, less peeps. I can ofcourse be biased.

The areas around Assawompsett, Pocksha and The Quittacas's should be turned into something official - marked trails, etc. This is a real recreational diamond in the rough.

The land is mostly protected, but so much more could be done.

So boys, not bad with the site. This particular run should be made around the whole lake, going in every inlet, amazing beaches you can jog on, penninsulas, points, high points (steep high point right next to the pit that you guys ran aside, no view on top). However access from where you entered will still afford you the same beaches and secluded points facing another secluded open space, just take a right at the pit.

The same type "carpet bomb", like Weston;)type logging was done on the north side on a point next to Long Point Road. However, the South side, like where you were, the logging was done correctly. Just wanted to throw that in there. Try Mad Mares Neck on the East Side.

Great Run!
